Recycled plastic wreath. Two helical strips crossing each other in opposite directions wrapped around a toroidal void.
This could be used as a base for a traditional wreath that you could decorate or left as it is, a minimalist take on the wreath. However, the most interesting aspect is that it can be made of waste materials. Recycling your recycling isn’t really recycling, we are told (*) though religiously rinsing our milk bottles and putting them in the right bins is crucial for keeping up the practice and safeguarding the culture of recycling. But it also makes sense that we can actually recycle some of our waste in our own communities by making artefacts and finding uses for them. With a concerted effort each micro-community can implement their initiatives and if replicated it might all add up to something meaningful.
We want to explore ways of involving the local population of Walthamstow in such initiatives. Check back here or drop us an email to stay informed.
Below are some photos of the prototypes. Each wreaph is unique because the material is recycled. To order, please email us.
